About Harvey Friedman:
Dr. Friedman is a graduate of the New York University School of Medicine; he received the highest honors upon completion of his residency in the NYU/Bellevue Hospital system. In 1985 he joined a New Jersey practice because of its dedication to quality and innovative patient care. Comprehensive Women’s Care was a direct outgrowth of that earlier practice. The practice was also one of the first to promote vaginal birth after C Section.
In addition to his private practice he served on a variety of committees at Englewood hospital introducing quality and safety measures. He was instrumental in updating the Department of OB/GYN both in terms of its physical plant and with evidence based medicine. He pushed forth a vision for LDR’s, where patients could labor, deliver, and recuperate all in the same birthing room. Years ago he served as the Division Chief of Obstetrics, and recently the Interim Chief of the Department.
While respected for his knowledge and skills, he is best known for his personalized and compassionate care, and calm demeanor.
Dr. Friedman is married, has three children, and two grand children.
