About Deidre Horvath:
Deirdre Horvath was born and raised in Acton, Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Public Health from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. After college, Deirdre joined AmeriCorps as a Community HealthCorps volunteer at a family health center in New York City. While providing health education to the Centering Pregnancy groups she also served as a labor doula for many of the patients. As a doula she was able to see first hand the experience of the patient and the provider. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in midwifery. She returned to school at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia as a Fuld Fellow and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master’s of Science in Nursing in Midwifery and as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her clinical interests include family planning, adolescent care and empowering women to be healthy and happy. Her outside interests include hiking with her dog Maxie, traveling, and yoga.
