Serena comes to us with 5 years as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with specialty care in management of high-risk OB patients and all aspects of gynecological care and education. She began her education as a Pre-Physical Therapy major at Howard University. She then achieved her BSN in Nursing at Concordia College in New York and worked as a surgical nurse for 11 years. The concern for women’s health outcomes drew her to continue her studies in this area. She studied chronic diseases affecting OB patients and how to best manage those concerns for the mom and baby. She also worked to obtain her MSN as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in May 2019. She worked at Newark Beth Israel MFM Women’s Health Clinic and later with MFM Group in Douglasville and Austell. She has years of experience collaborating with other allied health professionals in establishing the best plan of care for patients in managing their conditions.
She believes in active participation and clear communication between the providers and the patients. She loves to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment for her patients that allows them to engage in comfortable dialogue, providing the best health care experience for favorable patient outcomes. She has worked in a variety of medical environments and is skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of women’s healthcare and well-being.
Serena is a great listener, loves to laugh, and cares deeply about her patients. She enjoys spending time with her family, DIY projects and traveling. Throughout her travels spanning across almost 40 countries, she has developed a stronger understanding for the diverse communities that she serves and applies that knowledge gained from those experiences to address the unique needs of every patient in her care.
