About Rita Kaplon:

Dr. Rita Kaplon grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee. She attended Oberlin College in Ohio where she earned her B.A. in neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry. She received her medical degree at The Ohio State University in 2015 before completing her residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2019. Dr. Kaplon and her husband moved to Asheville with their toddler to join Laurel Ob/Gyn in 2019. She values patient autonomy and prioritizes shared decision making with her patients. Outside of practicing medicine Rita enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as cooking and hiking.
