About Lorraine Bowen:
Lorraine Bowen, CNM, CRNP graduated from The Catholic University of America in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She completed her graduate studies at the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing with a Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse-Midwifery specialty in 2006, and a Postmaster’s Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner specialty in 2007. She pioneered the midwifery service at Capital Women’s Care in 2007. In 2021 she was instrumental in starting the Centering Pregnancy program where she is a group facilitator and the program coordinator. She functions as the representative for all nurse-midwives on the medical staff at Meritus Medical Center on the Maternal-Child Service line. Her medical interests include prepared childbirth, breastfeeding, and family-centered obstetrical care. In her free time she enjoys gardening, traveling, hiking, exploring local fun spots, and spending time with her friends and family.
