About Kathleen Shimp:
Experienced board-certified obstetrics and gynecology physician, Dr. Kathleen Shimp, MD, FACOG practices medicine at Premier Women's Care of Southwest Florida, located in Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres, Florida. Dr. Shimp has 15 years of experience in OB/GYN care and sees women at every life stage.
She received her undergraduate degree in biology at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, and was accepted into medical school. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. Dr. Shimp completed her OB/GYN residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She specializes in all areas of OB/GYN care, including the teenage years, family planning, pregnancy, delivery, menopause, and beyond. She’s dedicated to giving each patient the time she deserves and stays up-to-date with the latest medical advancements — such as MonaLisa Touch® for vaginal atrophy, and gentle C-sections so patients can experience a more natural delivery.
Dr. Shimp helps patients suffering from infertility, endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding, menopausal symptoms, and much more. Her compassionate bedside manner makes patients feel comfortable, and right at home.
To keep up with the latest OB/GYN medical advancements, Dr. Shimp maintains her advanced credentialing. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Shimp is currently accepting new patients and welcomes them to the practice.
