About Jocelyn Ivie:
Our board-certified OBGYN, Dr. Jocelyn Ivie, has found nothing that can compete with the joy that is felt after delivering a baby. Her career as an OBGYN has helped her develop several other professional passions along the way, such as finding solutions for women with sexual dysfunction, performing minimally invasive surgery that includes robotic and single-site procedures, and vulvar cosmetic surgery. Dr. Ivie is board certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). As an award-winning OBGYN, she was awarded the "Best Doctors Award" in 2015 and 2017 by Desert Companion Magazine.
Dr. Ivie lives by the mantra, "Be present in the moment." She wants you to know that once the exam room door closes, she will shut out whatever is happening on the other side. You will have her full attention, and she will focus on you and your unique situation. Her time with you will be spent understanding your needs and setting up a future plan together as her goal is to be a partner with you throughout your life. Dr. Ivie is committed to helping you navigate the trials and tribulations of being female – from adolescence to menopause.
Skills and Specialties
Dr. Ivie specializes in minimally invasive surgeries for the female reproductive tract, such as laparoscopic surgery, LEEP, tubal ligation, dilation and curettage, hysterectomy, colposcopy, and cesarean-section delivery. She is also highly experienced in managing pregnancies, vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) deliveries, and vaginal deliveries. Dr. Ivie also offers screenings for gynecological cancers, sexually transmitted diseases, fertility, and more.
Education
Dr. Ivie grew up in southern California in a very tight-knit Filipino family. She received a biomechanical engineering degree at Cal (UC Berkeley). Then, she took a six-month break during college to work at a biotech firm. Dr. Ivie soon realized the doctors at the biotech firm had more fun than the engineers. She switched gears and went to medical school at USC Keck School of Medicine in East Los Angeles, CA. She stayed in the area for her OBGYN residency at White Memorial Medical Center. After graduation, Dr. Ivie had the pleasure of serving in the U.S. Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base.
Personal
Living here in Las Vegas since 2001 has taught her that despite its huge growth, Las Vegas has maintained both its small-town charm and its big heart. When Dr. Ivie is not at work, she enjoys yoga, classic movies, raising her "mini-me" daughter with the personality of her father, and trying to find directions to the gym.
