About Ericka Lavin:
Ericka Lavin joined WomanCare Centers in 2018, following graduation from Georgetown University with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife and certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She holds Bachelor Degrees in Nursing from Georgetown and in Social Work from Marist College. Ericka’s professional interests include breastfeeding education and support, family planning counseling, providing guidance for healthy pregnancy, and supporting women in their goals for the labor and birth experience that suits them. Ericka believes women are gatekeepers for their families’ health, therefore, it is essential to support women in achieving and maintaining physical and emotional well-being. When women have access to health resources and information, they are further enabled to care for and support their families and loved ones.
Ericka, her husband, Matt, and their four children have lived in Hampton Roads for nearly ten years. They arrived here courtesy of the U.S. Coast Guard, and now call it home. Ericka enjoys The Arts, sewing, painting, and glasswork, listening to NPR, attempting an annual garden, travel with her family, and the newest family tradition: all things Gamecocks.
