Brittney Abood has been providing top notch patient care and an integral part of our medspa since 2021.
Brittney first became curious about skin care and aesthetics when she was a teen struggling with acne and an overload of sunburns. She discovered her passion for it when she started to understand ingredients and saw how different products changed her skin. Brittney became an aesthetician in her early twenties, and she has been able to use that experience in every aspect throughout her career.
Brittney graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles in 2006 and wasn’t passionate enough about the marketing work she was doing with her degree. She decided to follow her passion and went to aesthetician school and passed her state board in 2009.
Determined to become comfortable with treating all types of skin types and ethnicities, Brittney went to work at Massage Envy in Los Angeles because she knew it had a high volume of appointments. She quickly became comfortable with taking care of a wide variety of skin types and stayed there for five years before moving to San Diego.
While working at a spa in downtown San Diego, Brittney was introduced to hydrafacials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and more. After reaching her goal of working for a plastic surgeon, she learned more than she ever expected. She took this rich experience and moved into cosmetic dermatology to combine her love for skin care and patient care, which led her to LJC in 2021.
As an aesthetician of 13 years with a huge passion for skin care, she loves using her expertise at LJC while chatting with patients about skin care products and educating them on their benefits. She treats every patient as if they were her mother or sister and gives them honest advice that she truly believes will help them on their journey to beautiful skin.
Prior to bringing her talent to LJC, Brittney helped build a plastic surgery business from the ground up, worked in dermatology for 4 years doing body sculpting and skin tightening procedures, and was a lead investigator for clinical studies and trials.
When she’s not helping clients get glowing skin in the aesthetician room, Brittney is in charge of some of the day-to-day tasks that keep LJC a lovely, smooth-running environment in which each patient feels comfortable and safe. She does everything from ensuring policies and procedures are up to date, organizing the medspa, patient scheduling, managing inventory, making sure machines are properly maintained, and keeping everything clean. Whew!

To Brittney, the highlight of her job is helping nervous patients feel comfortable, calm, and prepared before a procedure by being honest, informative, and radiating genuine excitement for them. She loves being able to be the lead medical assistant as well as an aesthetician and sharing all that she has learned over the years with patients and colleagues.
Although Brittney is clearly a busy bee with a passion for all things beauty, if she had a month totally to herself, she’d go traveling through Europe.
